Time management is a learned skill—not something teens automatically know!

Ask yourself:What does my teen do to manage time effectively? Does my teen need a lot of help and guidance to manage time effectively? Consider some common tools to manage time, such as visual schedules, planners, and timers. Are any of these being used by your teen> If so, are they being used independently?

Try This This Week:Help your teen plan one day using a simple schedule. Keep the schedule realistic - if it is a busy weekday with a lot of activities and obligations, be sure to include everything. If it is a weekend with less structure, be sure to guide your teen to include the right amount of activity for the time that is available, including down-time.
